Phillip S. Sutton, Ohio State '88, Selected as Executive Director of Acacia Fraternity, Inc.
After an extensive and thorough search process, it is with great pleasure that we announce Phillip S. Sutton, Ohio State ’88, as the newly appointed Executive Director. He will be our 9th Executive Director in Acacia's 119-year history.
Phil brings with him extensive experience within the fraternity and we are confident that his leadership will contribute significantly to our organization's continued success. His commitment to our mission, combined with his leadership experience, collaborative approach, and effective communication, make him the perfect fit for this role.
We believe that Phil's vision and strategic approach will further enhance our organization's impact and strengthen our connection with members and stakeholders alike. We encourage you to extend a warm welcome to Phil as he assumes this crucial position.

Brother Sutton was employed with Ashland Petroleum, and later Marathon Petroleum, for over 29 years in marketing, commercial, trading, and supply roles. These roles were both as a manager and individual contributor in Ohio, Texas, Illinois, Georgia, and the U.K.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing and Production Operations Management at The Ohio State University. He served as Venerable Dean, Senior Dean and Rush Chairman for Acacia. Within the Greek system, he was on the Interfraternity Council two years, the second as President. He also served on the Greek Week Steering Committee.
As an alumnus, Phil served on the Ohio State House Corporation Board several times between 1991-2007, including President several years. Most recently, Phil has served on the Acacia Fraternity Foundation Board since 2018. Phil is both an Order of Pythagoras and Award of Merit recipient.
Phil and his wife Crissy have been married 29 years and have two children. Crissy is a Chi Omega and an alumnus of The Ohio State University. Their daughter, Sophia, is a Kansas State University graduate and is in her first year at the Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine. Their son, Peter, is in his fourth year at the University of South Carolina and plans to attend George Washington University Law School in the fall of 2024.
In the coming weeks, there will be opportunities to engage with Phil directly, including a virtual town hall. Phil's appointment marks an exciting chapter in our journey, and we are confident that, together, we will achieve new heights.
